I remember the day like it was yesterday. It’s actually a funny story. During my pregnancy I craved wings & fried chicken. It was a Friday night July 8th, 2016 and my husband just got home from work & I was heating up some wings. I got up from the couch & I felt a little water. I said to my husband “Either I peed myself or my water just broke”. LOL I mean it was our first child and like you see in the movies we thought that when your water breaks it gushes out & stuff! I sat down and waited and got up again & more fluid. TMI. I’m sorry. I sat back down & finished my wings because I knew once we went to the hospital I couldn’t eat again LOL!!

We got my hospital bag and we made our way to the hospital. Once we parked I got out and took a few steps and woosh. I was like…I think for sure my water broke. I got admitted and examined & YES My water did break! I called my parents freaking out and told them that the baby was coming! I was nervous. If you know me I don’t deal with pain very well and hello?! I’m about to push out a baby!!!!

Let me just fast forward to the next day. I was in labor for 20 hours before I was fully dilated. I was so exhausted and of course I got the epidural.  The whole process was not what I expected. I had the sweetest nurse that had me push. I pushed for a good two hours before my nurse said I was ready for the doctor to come in. (In the movies you see the doctor is the one who tells you 1, 2, 3 push…but it was my nurse that coached me through it and got me to where i needed to be). At 2:35 P.M. Saturday July 9th, 2016 our sweet baby girl Lily was born.

During the whole delivery the only people in the room was my husband & my nurse. I could not have gone through it without my husband. By the time I was pushing I was sooooo exhausted and to have him be there and tell me I could do it and to keep it going was AMAZING. Once our sweet Lily was here I fell even more in love with my husband. I didn’t even know that could be possible because I already loved him so much but I did. I fall more in love with him every day. (so mushy i know) lol

We were blessed that Lily was healthy. She did have jaundice so she had to stay in the hospital a little longer than me but this experience is unlike anything I have ever experienced. I couldn’t believe it… this sweet perfect baby was half me & half the love of my life. She was perfect. ❀
